Counter StoolsCounter stools are awesome. You can sit at the counter while someone makes you some food or just sit and pay the bills or something. I also love to sit at a good sturdy bar stool at home near the mini bar or when I go to the local pub with friends. A rich life is one in which we can design and authenticate our lives with the appropriate purchase of a bar or counter stool. Counter Stool ColorsThe favorite of all stools, both bar and counter, is black. The reason, you can only imagine, is that black stools do not get stained easily and make you look successful. The next favorite color is brown. Why? Wood is brown and it matches other wooden décor. Wood also makes the home feel warm, rich, and inviting. To really class it up, you might mix hardwoods with dark brown leathers. Red is the most popular color for retro kitchens. Sometimes bright neon greens are also used for retro. The point of bright red and greens is to complement other darker brown and black décor. With the retro look you are trying to make a splash and be bold. The way to do that is with bright accent colors. Many of the retro counter and bar stools are uniquely upholstered with a bright color and the rest is usually a bright metal chrome. Story about Counter StoolsWhen I was young my parents did not have counter stools. I didn't even know what they were. We had a dining room table, but it wasn't used a lot. We would use the dining room table for occasional family dinners and that was about it. I didn't like to eat there on a daily basis because I wanted to be where everyone else was and that was the living room. So, I would eat in the living room pretty much all of the time. Then, one day my parents decided to get some counter stools. I would still eat in the living room because that's what was always done. However, over time, I started to use the counter stools more and more. What do I remember about those counter stools? Nothing. I mean I can tell you what the counter stools looked like. They were basic brown backless stools with a brown cushion top. The important thing about what I do remember is the increased interaction with my parents. For example, my dad loved to eat potatoes. Every single Saturday morning he would put on the oldest tee shirt imaginable and cook fried potatoes in bacon grease. What I found myself doing was that I started sitting in those stools and talking to my dad about the week as he cooked potatoes. I found out a lot of things about my dad that I never knew. The same thing happened with my mom. In the summer, my mom like to make homemade stews and chicken noodle soup from scratch. Again, I found myself sitting in those counter stools so that I could talk to her. Back in those days I didn't like beef stew at all. And, I remember one day that my mother made my brother and I eat a whole bowl of the stuff. I remember sitting there all day long and how I didn't like it. Since I was a kid then and the memory is so old, it was probably only and hour or something. SummaryCounter chairs and bar stools may seem unimportant. They are just chairs. What can they do for me? They can help you find more time to interact with your children and spouse. They can help you to enjoy cooking because you can talk to more people while doing it. And, counter stools and bar stools aren't really all that expensive. It all depends on the style you choose. |
